In case you haven't seen it, Future Guest Blogger William Henderson (Indiana) provides an empirical analysis of the U.S. & World Report Law School Rankings here. He explains, as shown below, that the academic reputation score does not change much overtime.

The changes in rankings (at least at the top) are manipulations to create changes in order to sell magazines. If the rankings stay the same, no magazines will sell.
Unfortunately, development folks at law schools say that these rankings affect giving in real ways. ("Oh my law school broke into the top-10, I think I'll give more this year")
What would happen if the law schools stopped providing the data for these analyses?
