The Lingering Tulane Law Review Mess

Tulane Law School, Tulane Law Review, and others remain stuck in an evolving mess stemming from the Tulane Law Review's recent publication of a flawed empirical study.  Eugene Volokh (UCLA) and Dave Hoffman (Temple) have comprehensive summary posts here and here, respectively.

Why aren't the freaking professors who wrote the article in a mess? Why is everything always the fault of the students, or the administration, or greedy CEOs, or something, but never the fault of a professor?
