Today's Los Angeles Times covers the "fascination with Supreme Court bobbleheads[.]" It's "part of a small but growing craze that began in the spring of 2003, when the Green Bag — which describes itself as ‘an entertaining journal of law’ — put out its Rehnquist figure."
One lawyer paid $2,100 for Rehnquist and $800 for Stevens. Catch the craze here.
The Green Bag is a very entertaining journal. Check out greenbag.org - they have a recent article analyzes 75 oral argument transcript over the 2004-2005 session to determine which justice is the funniest - i.e. which justice asks the most questions at oral argument that prompts the Supreme Court reporter to note (Laughter) in the transcript. The clear winner (no big surprise here) is Justice Scalia, who generated 77 laughs in only 75 cases - very impressive. Rounding up the rear is (also no big surprise) Justice Thomas.
