OMB Watch, a non-profit established in 1983 (to make OMB more transparent), soon will start a website with information on federal grants and contracts. According to a recent OMB Watch email, “[c]urrently, it’s nearly impossible to find out how much agencies are spending, what they are spending it on, and who it’s going to.” This site should provide a nice source of data for scholars. You can vote on potential names for the website now, (including my favorite, www.federaldollars.org).
