A terrific benefit of the ELS Blog is that it provides links to a great many databases that are of interest to scholars doing empirical research on legal issues. One very useful site that is not yet linked on the ELS Blog, however, is the Data Directory of the Law and Courts Section of the American Political Science Association.
This site, which can be accessed here, contains links to numerous data holdings, including online data resources, a number of important databases, and several public domain datasets that are available for the replication and extension of published research. Unlike other sites that focus on a particular topic or dataset, this site enables researchers to access a wide variety of information and data. It is well worth browsing.
