The University of Pennsylvania Journal of Constitutional Law announces its 2007 Symposium:
On February 23 and 24, 2007, the Journal will host its Tenth Annual Symposium, “Positive Approaches to Constitutional Law and Theory,” at the National Constitution Center and University of Pennsylvania Law School. The Symposium will look past traditional methodological debates to examine the specific contribution that positive theory can make to constitutional doctrine. Topics covered will include agenda setting by the Supreme Court and the lower federal courts, the influence of public opinion on constitutional law, external and internal institutional constraints that influence Supreme Court decision-making, and use of positive theory to analyze specific doctrinal areas.
Please contact Jennifer Kates at [email protected] or 267.303.1379 for further information. The Symposium webpage is found at http://www.law.upenn.edu/journals/conlaw/symposium/index.html.
