The variety of topics to which ELS can profitably be applied--as shown, for instance, by the recent AALS conference and by the successful ELS conferences--is, of course, both encouraging and daunting. As one perhaps atypical example, a month or so ago there was an interesting exchange on the PropertyProfs listserv, looking for examples of empirical legal articles examining property issues. I am certain there are more than the ones identified, as this request focused on real property--and I hope readers might identify more, please!--but the ones that were mentioned are excellent examples of the sort of useful ELS work that can be done.
