I hope that my co-bloggers and the readers of this blog will excuse me for this non-law related post: it is my first and I hope it will be my last. As many of you no doubt know by now, the bridge over Highway 35W that, among other things, separates the East and West Banks of the University of Minnesota collapsed last night. It is a bridge that, like my colleagues, I have crossed on a regular basis literally hundreds of time. So far, no one I know was personally touched by this tragedy, but I fear that may change today with more than twenty people unaccounted for at this time. I hope and pray that my colleagues and friends as well as their families are safe, and my heart and prayers goes out to the families that were directly impacted by this profound tragedy. I would also like to thank colleagues, friends, and family for the outpouring of concern for our safety.
