Over at Balkanization, Brian Tamanaha has this provocative post on why an aggressive interdisciplinarity may not be such a good idea in most law schools. Brian forthrightly notes that his concerns over "the various worrisome implications of the increasingly distinct two universes of legal practice (corporate law and all the rest)" stem in part from his reading of social scientific studies on the subject. Anyone out there who cares to (empirically) tackle his concerns over interdisciplinarity in a rigorous way could have a heck of a book (or Ph.D. thesis...).
